Being connected has become a critical priority for nearly everyone in today's high-tech world. Connectivity is a word and concept that we are all familiar with. Most of us enjoy the internet at blazing speeds, most of us have cell phones. We interact with people around the world with practically the same convenience that we interact with people next door!
But we are more disconnected now than ever...
Which proves one thing - the speed and availability of a connection does not the connection make! Families are not connecting like they did in the past. Neighbors are not connecting as in the past.
What's the problem?
There are probably many reasons for our disconnected state - but one must be the sheer number of connections that are now available to us! We are bombarded with so much information. There are so many demands on our time.
"The world is getting smaller..." they say. Really, it isn't. In terms of geography - it's roughly the same size it has always been. In terms of population - it's much larger. But it seems smaller because our perspective has changed.
The rockets launched along the southern borders of Lebanon are exploding in our living room. The problems of the world have become ours. The fears of the world have become ours. The culture of the world has become ours. Unlike the generations before, our generation takes the phrase "Changing my world" very literally. You see, our ownership has expanded. We have more more information, and with it has come much more responsibility. The real reason we are having difficulty connecting with others is because we are too busy just trying to connect the pieces of our own life!
Do you ever get to feeling like life is a juggling act?
There's your career, your family, your health, your finances, your home, your church, your education, your passions, and perhaps much more...
You've got two hands, so at any given time you might seem to have a handle on one or two of those responsibilities - but you know there's a lot up in the air that you are somehow going to have to catch before it hits the ground!
Unfortunately - this isn't an act. It's not going to be over in 60 seconds, followed by applause and cheers from the watching crowd. This is life, and you've got to keep it up for a very long time...
Feel frantic?
But now, imagine if all of those responsibilities are connected on a large ring... You can relax a bit, can't you?
Eph 4:6 tells us that there is "one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in you all."
The truth is, Jesus has already connected all of those aspects of your life - He's been throughout them from the beginning. He really is the Connect Point - our goal is only to help you see Him more clearly, so you can relax, and enjoy the connected life.
So it's really not about us. At ConnectPoint - it's all about Him. Check out some of the links at left to find out more..
